Shatpanchasika Horary Calculation Methodology
The Shatpanchasika Horary Engine (Prashna) evaluates the alignment of the cosmos at the exact second a query is posed. Unlike natal astrology, which relies on a lifetime birth chart, Horary astrology casts a chart for the birth of the *question itself*.
This engine calculates the planetary relationships based on Prithuyasas' (son of Varahamihira) classical text *Shatpanchasika* (the 56 shlokas), translating complex geometric aspect pathways into direct answers.
To calculate a response, the engine determines four critical points:
- The Lagna (Ascendant): Represents the inquirer (Prashtri) and their current physical/mental state.
- The Query House Lord (Karya Lord): Represents the subject of the question (e.g., 7th house for partnership/marriage, 10th house for career/advancement, 11th house for financial gains).
- The Moon (Chandra): Acts as the vital bridge, representing the mental flow and timing of the event.
The engine evaluates aspect dynamics to determine if the query will reach a successful resolution:
- Ithasala Yoga (Application of Aspect): Formed when a faster planet is behind a slower planet and is moving to aspect it. This is the primary indicator of success/fulfillment.
- Esharapha Yoga (Separation of Aspect): Formed when the faster planet has already crossed the degree of the slower planet. Indicates a missed opportunity or past event.
- Nakta Yoga (Aspect Bridge): When the Lagna lord and Karya lord do not aspect each other, but a faster third planet (usually the Moon) aspects both, bridging the energy to bring resolution.
* The Snapshot View: Instantly displays the Ascendant sign, Moon position, and the query lord relationships. * Shadbala Strength Rating: High strength ratings for the Lagna and Karya lords indicate that the events will move forward swiftly. * Final Astrological Verdict: Classifies the outcome into categories like *Fulfillment (Immediate)*, *Resolution with Effort*, *Delayed Success*, or *Frictional Obstruction*.
